San Cristóbal Shawl

This shawl uses knitweave techniques to reinterpret the intricate geometric embroidery practiced by the highland Maya in the villages outside San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.  The colorwork pattern reads clearly on either the knit or purl sides, making the shawl reversible.  A knotted fringe adds a soft, fluid edge.
